Gentrification in Columbus, Ohio has been spreading through each county. It's affecting the people within communities causing displacement. Throughout my research, I have discovered acts/policies that can fight against gentrification. For this project, I wanted to create a five-touchpoint kit that assists people in understanding what the specific act is (I chose to incorporate one act, which is the Central Ohio Community Land Trust Act), how to become a homeowner, and provide information on organizations that could aid them in becoming a homeowner. I also wanted this kit to help people who don't have the resources, time, or is unaware of the land trust. I limited it to one area that is in the midst of becoming gentrified and that was Franklinton. There was one stakeholder in Franklinton that I saw fit to help with this project and that was the Franklinton Development Association. They are a non-profit organization in Columbus, Ohio. They aid mid-to-low-income citizens or families that are either in need of becoming homeowners or renting homes.
